We are seeking an experienced Food Safety Specialist to collaborate closely with multiple clients and stakeholders on our 'Food Safety Project' in Iberia.





The Food Safety Specialist will develop targeted research programs and enhance the services provided to our clients, becoming the go-to resource at Nutreco.

About The Role: Food Safety Specialist
Responsibilities:
Optimization and innovation:
Aiding investigations for food safety related customer complaints.
Actively promote and deliver training internally to customers ensuring that end-product quality and food safety competence meet required levels.
Investigate potential contamination issues, which may result in product contamination, reduced shelf-life, or customer complaints or rejection of products.
Responsible for Food Safety documentation research, preparation, review and revisions.
Assist with vendor and distribution center visits, production runs, and food safety audits as needed.
Supports Customer Service and other departments with any technical, quality, public health, or food safety issues and questions.
Projects & R&D; studies:
Works closely with the researchers to develop lab experimental design and test plans.





Conducts lab experiments according to the test plan, collate and report test results.
Participates in- and/or contributes to the definition, planning and coordination of food safety and meat quality projects, and ensures execution and delivery in order to realize the projects within agreed parameters.
Initiates, supports and advises on service projects for B2F, B2B, production and external organizations.
Networking and external relations:
Maintains contacts with Nutreco R&D; centers, and other Business units within Nutreco.
Organizes / coordinates projects and collaborations with universities and technological centers.
Liaises with schools and other educational institutions regarding potential trainees.
Compliance / Quality Assurance:






Assures compliance with internal and external standards like ISO9001 and ISO17025.
Prepares Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for the laboratory and ensures proper documentation of knowledge in rules, procedures, work instructions and manuals.
Skills and Expertise
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Vet, Biology, Chemistry or similar.
Master’s in Food Safety would be desirable.
At least 3-4 years of previous experience in a similar role.
Experience working on different projects and managing multiple stakeholders.
Ability to work fluently in both languages Spanish and English.
Willing to learn, collaborative and curious.
